U.S. Guitar Kits loves music and woodworking and always strives to join the two together in a harmonious combination. The craftsmanship involved in building quality guitars has always been left to the truly skilled craftsman known as Luthiers. Since much of this craftsmanship has been handed down through generations and the few hard working and often poorly paid apprentices, the craft has never become main stream to those who would like to attempt such a project. Building instruments will challenge skills and build confidence in this highly rewarding aspect of woodworking. Many of those who have played or even admired the beauty of the instrument have shown interest in someday making an heirloom instrument that can be played today and passed on and continued to be played for generations. Maybe it’s for you or a friend, a son, a daughter, a grandchild. Regardless, it is always for The Love of the Instrument.
U.S. Guitar Kits believes that everyone who has interest in both the guitar and woodworking should have the opportunity to try their hand at building one of these wonderful instruments. A few things have put this project out of reach including specials skills, few hands-on classes and expensive specialty tools. This is where U.S. Guitar Kits can begin to help you take that first step.
First, we package an affordable kit with quality components that, when completed, will produce a great sounding instrument.
Secondly, we remove the need for expensive specialty tools by preparing several parts of the instrument and still leaving the “maker” a woodworker’s touch.
Lastly, we distribute our products through a network of retailers and schools that have committed support to the products through classes designed for novice and intermediate woodworking skills. While we often find repeat buyers of our kits, a first instrument is likely to be built in a classroom environment to strengthen skills and confidence with a group of fellow enthusiasts that sometimes turns to a longtime woodworking friend. Be sure to check out the referral list of those locations where you will find classes in your area. Each of the locations has a finished instrument for you to see and play.
U.S. Guitar Kits hopes that you will be encouraged to take that first step and explore the possibilities of fulfilling a challenge or a dream to make this instrument and be proud to say, “I built this guitar!”
We can’t wait to hear your feedback by returning back to our site and posting your thoughts and experience. We will continue to post the experience of students to encourage others to take this quest in a skill that will surely have you looking to build that next guitar.
Happy and safe woodworking from your friends at U.S. Guitar Kits.
